Nissan GTP ZX-Turbo

One of my all-time favorite cars... The Nissan GTP ZX-Turbo was developed Electramotive Engineering to compete in the IMSA GT-Prototype Championship series.
In 1988, Nissan dominated GTP racing, much to the dismay of the TWR Jaguars. The team avoided the endurance races at Daytona and Sebring. But after that, Geoff Brabham won almost every race, taking nine wins (including eight in a row), usually partnered by John Morton. Nissan won the manufacturers title and Geoff Brabham became GTP Drivers Champion.
1989 was very much a repeat of 1988. A second chassis (#84) had been built and delivered to Electramotive. The opposition was in disarray, as Porsche were now fading from view with their 962, Jaguar were still developing the new XJR-10 V6 turbo and the Toyota Eagles were still on the learning curve. Nissan and Brabham were champions again.
This car is on my slot car wish list. Slot.It could sell a million I'm sure, there are probably several in line ahead of it. The only 1/32 scale slot car model of this beautiful beast is made by MTR32.
Fortunately MTR32 sells the body and decals separately...   so there's still hope!

Road Racing!!!

I' a big fan of auto-racing almost any kind really, but I LOVE road racing!

Back in the eighties, I became aware of IMSA and SCCA road racing after being given a  Porsche 956 model kit and have loved it ever since.

thru the Starting Gate!

I've been planning to get this blog going for some time now...

I'll be posting pictures, comments, links and reviews of some of the things I'm into. They'll mostly be, as the blog name implies, about slot cars, models and video games. I belong to a local slot car club in north Alabama...
